Will Smith And Doug E. Fresh Perform “Summertime” At Gabrielle Union’s Birthday Party

We can assume Gabrielle Union's boyfriend Miami Heat shooting guard Dwayne Wade got her a nice present for her 40th birthday, but it is unlikely that it topped her gift from Will Smith. At Union's Saturday night party in Miami, the Fresh Prince rapper treated Union and her guests to a mini performance that included his hit "Summertime" and the theme song to his popular sitcom "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air."

Wearing a Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap, Smith rhymed a nearly 2 minute-long freestyle rap over a live beatbox from Doug E. Fresh before launching into his No. 1 1991 anthem with DJ Jazzy Jeff. The crowd rapped along as Smith delivered the musical opening for "The Fresh Prince …" He even lent backing vocals for Doug E. Fresh's "La Di Da Di."

An impressed Wade, posted a photo and caption on Instagram: "Wow. Epic night. Fresh prince and dougie fresh just shut it down."

Union was still beaming the next day. "I'm sitting here thinkin about last night & I'm just cheesin & shakin my head. Unreal & epic! Big S/O 2 everyone who was a witness," she wrote on Twitter.

Smith has been doing a number of impromptu performances of late. In May, he and Jazzy Jeff teamed up for the "Men In Black III" afterparty.
