98 Degrees releasing new album May 7

Less than one month after their “The Package Tour” announcement, reunited boy band 98 Degrees has revealed that they will be releasing a new album before they head out on the road with the New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the band, consisting of brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre, will drop “2.0” on May 7.

"We are really excited to bring our fans new music and get out on the road," Lachey, who plans on taking his son Camden John on tour with him, said. "This is a long time coming."

In an interview with People, Timmons reflected on the band’s reunion and being back in the studio, saying, "When we first got together, we started singing a capella. It felt very natural. We're all friendly. We haven't kept in touch like we should have, but when we get together, it's like old times."

He also said, "We've all developed different sounds. I'm more R&B. A couple of the other guys are more pop. So it's fun to put us together and see what we come up with."

While we patiently wait for “2.0” to arrive this May, let’s take a look back at some of our favourite 98 Degrees tunes.

1. “Invisible Man”

This 1997 track introduced the world to 98 Degrees and as one YouTube commenter remarked, the song is “The national anthem of the Friend Zone.”

2. " I Do (Cherish You)"

First released by country artist Mark Wills in 1998, 98 Degrees’ version of the song came with a music video featuring a cameo by “Saved By The Bell’s” Samuel "Screech" Powers, Dustin Diamond, who marries the stunning Ali Landry.

3. “Thank God I Found You”

The boy band joined R&B artist Joe on this 2000 Mariah Carey track and earned themselves a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

4. “My Everything”

This video is special because it included the actual love interests of a few of the band members.
