When Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" world tour reached Perth, Australia, on Friday Oct. 5, the original "American Idol" chose to cover a song by a fellow "Idol" winner. During the fan request portion of her show, Clarkson surprised the audience by performing Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away."

"I love music! I love music more than most people," the 30-year-old said before launching into "Blown Away," the second single off Underwood's fourth album by the same name. "I love all different genres [and] I love anything that sounds soulful and has a heart to it."

For her activism efforts, 26-year-old songstress Lady Gaga was recognized with the LennonOno Grant For Peace today in Reykjavik, Iceland. The ceremony is also a celebration of the former Beatle and his son Sean's birthdays, which both fall on Oct.9.

In addition to Gaga, recipients named for this year's grant also include activists Rachel Corrie, John Perkins, Christopher Hitchens. and Pussy Riot. In a statement about Gaga, Lennon's widow Yoko Ono gave high praise to the pop star and philanthropist:

"Lady Gaga is one of the biggest living artists of our time. She is not only an artist, she is also an activist, using her art to bring better communication to the world. She is being acknowledged for her activism, and how her album 'Born This Way' has widely changed the mental map of the world. And how it has made us deal with the future world, which happens to be here already."

Showing the world that they can "Gangnam Style," the U.S. Air Force Academy have released a video performing PSY's Korean pop hit -- and, in the process, they attempt to show the other military academies that they reign supreme when showcasing the viral track.

Writing in the clip's description on YouTube, "Spirit video made by the fourth class cadets of CS37 for the upcoming Navy Weekend," the USAFA also calls out the U.S. Naval Academy in the video, asking them to "watch closely" and see "how it's done."

According to The Canadian Encyclopaedia, here is a list of the instruments each founding member of the band is able to play:

- Alan Doyle is responsible for "vocals, guitar, bouzouki, mandola, mandolin and banjo." He can also play the medieval lute.
- Bob Hallett is also responsible for vocals and can play the "mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, banjo, fiddle, whistles, pipes, accordion and concertina."
- Sean McCann, a vocal contributor, plays the "guitar, tin whistle, bodhran and handles percussion."

Inmate style.

Jumping onto the "Gangnam Style" bandwagon, the inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines have released a video featuring PSY's viral hit which includes dance moves from his Guinness World Record holding video.

According to the clip's description on YouTube, the dance included "at least a thousand inmates" and was performed under "heavy" rainfall.

Posted only four days ago, the video has reached viral status with over 1.8 million views, in addition to the hundreds of thousands of hits generated from copycat postings.

This isn't the first time the prison-dancing troupe has gone viral. A video which shows them performing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" blew up in 2007 and currently has over 51.2 million views on YouTube.

Prepare to be mesmerized.

Posted on YouTube only two weeks ago, a video featuring 32 metronomes beginning out of sync and ending up completely in sync by the end of the clip has gone viral with over 1.25 million views.

Viewers hypnotized by the clip have been struggling to understand how all 32 devices responsible for counting beats per minute can start off in their own rhythm and end up coming together.

Venturing a guess as to how the eventual synchronization occurred, one viewer commented on the clip, "[They] synchronize because of the [table's] ability to move sideways, right? It only needs 2-3 metronomes to be almost synchronous so their momentum transferred through the table synchronises the rest?"

This guess is on the right track as a similar experiment done by the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Alaska Anchorage produced the

Performing Bruno Mars' single "Just The Way You Are," David Correy blew the judges away on last night's episode of "The X Factor" and given his track record of overcoming obstacles, proved that if you want something enough, you will stop at nothing to achieve it.

After traveling for 13 hours through the night and battling two thunderstorms, Correy waited for his audition opportunity, saying, "I can feel my heart coming out of my chest. I'm nervous but I'm more anxious [and] just ready to make [judges] Simon [Cowell,] Demi [Lovato,] L.A. [Reid,] and Britney [Spears] and that whole crowd and the world see this."

However, showing the world what he can do was only the part of the reasoning behind his choice to audition for "The X Factor" because as it turns out, Correy was also looking for a way to find his biological mother.

In light of the recent attention her changing figure has received while on her "Born This Way Ball" tour, Lady Gaga has invited all of her Little Monsters to join her in a "body revolution."

By posting pictures of herself wearing only a bra and underwear on a new webpage (launched yesterday) via her LittleMonsters.com site called "A Body Revolution 2013," Mother Monster hopes to  "inspire bravery and BREED some m$therf*cking COMPASSION."

On the site, the 26-year-old reveals that she has suffered from bulimia and anorexia since the age of 15 and highlights strong messages of acceptance that echo from her Born This Way Foundation.
