Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe,” the new universal pick-up line?

What's the cheesiest pick-up line you have ever heard?

Is it "You must be tired because you've been running through my mind all day," or "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" However, there's a new line in town and it goes something like, "Hey, I just met you and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?"

YouTube users Digitsshow and Theeamandamaston tried the line, which is a lyric from Carly Rae Jepsen's Billboard Hot 100 number one song "Call Me Maybe," with various test subjects and found that it works for some and not others, maybe.

First up is Rob Bradford of DiGiTS Show who approached women at a park and obtained quite a few phone numbers in a short amount of time.

As you can see in the clip, ladies were eager to give their phone numbers to Bradford making it a successful tool for the YouTuber.

However, when actress/comedian Amanda Maston attempted the same routine, luck was not on her side.

In the video, Maston approaches men while walking around Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, and is unsuccessful using Jepsen's catchy lyric to persuade them to call her. In one instance, it seems as though the man Maston is speaking with wants to call her but is deterred when he realizes that it is a long distance number.

So, does that mean that the line works for men and not women? Let us know if you've ever asked someone to "Call Me Maybe" in the comment section below!
