One Direction performs Amy Winehouse/Natalie Imbruglia mash-up

Singing in front of a campfire on stage, One Direction impressed their fans by performing a few classic pop tunes earlier this year while on their U.K. tour.

As their "Directioners" sang along, members of the boy band played guitar and performed The Zutons' track, "Valerie," and Imbruglia's, "Torn," while the audience screamed and swayed to the music.

"Valerie" was recently made popular by the late Amy Winehouse and performed in tribute to her by Bruno Mars during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. One Direction's rendition of the classic tune is sweet, sincere and definitely makes the audience swoon.

Imbruglia's "Torn," an English translation of the Danish song, "Brændt," by Lis Sørensen, spent 33 weeks on Billboard's Pop Songs chart. It overtook Savage Garden's "Truly Madly Deeply" in 1998 for the top spot and is still one of the best-known singles of the '90s.

For those who aren't familiar with the British boy band, One Direction is composed of five guys, Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayne. After placing third in the seventh season of 'The X Factor," they signed onto Simon Cowell's record label and later signed to Columbia Records.

Their debut single, "What Makes You Beautiful," released in Sept. 2011, peaked at number one in the UK. Their debut album Up All Night was released in Nov. 2011 and debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200.

One Direction's delivery of each tune presents a fresh take and gives a new voice to the classic tracks. It's nice to see the young lads from the U.K. introducing the pop songs of yesteryear to their tween fans and they look adorable while doing it.
