Paul McCartney busking under the radar in 1984

If you were in a rush on your way to work, home, or whatever important place you needed to be, would you stop and appreciate a street musician? What if that street musician were Justin Bieber, Bono or even Paul McCartney? Would you notice?

In a clip highlighted by Huffington Post Entertainment, we see McCartney busking in London in front of the Leicester Square Tube Station looking more like a man down on his luck than one of Britain's richest people and the former Beatle that we know him to be.

The above clip shows McCartney singing a version of The Beatles hit "Yesterday" and was taken from his 1984 film, "Give My Regards To Broad Street." Even though the film was not a commercial success, it served as an interesting experience for the music icon.

"Y'know, they just made me up and dropped me off," McCartney told the Beaver County Times after the film's release in 1984. "I told 'em we'd never get away with it, but they kept putting dirt on and rufflin' up me hair -- I was looking better and better -- and I figured, why not."

He also said, "So I was standin' there plunkin' chords, doing this silly version of the song, and no one noticed it was me. No one wants to look a busker in the eye of course, 'cus then they'd get his life story. So they'd toss coins and I'd be going, 'Yesterday, all my troubles -- thank you, sir -- seemed so far away.'"

Another musician that was caught busking undercover is U2's frontman, Bono, who raises money every Christmas Eve for the homeless through a street performance in Dublin.

Last year, police didn't recognize the legendary Irish singer and asked him to "move along" during his show. According to the Daily Star, "Although he always dresses down for the tradition, it was strange the police failed to spot one of the nation's most iconic men." Adding, "Bono found the funny side though and the issue was soon resolved."

Even Canada's golden boy, Justin Bieber, started out busking in front of Stratford, Ont.'s Avon Theatre and recently returned there to treat a few lucky fans to a special street performance of his hit, "Baby."

So, the next time you're in a rush and passing that street performer who is so talented that they are worth a second look, they might just be an international sensation in the making or an established musician having some fun.

Either way, you'll probably be glad that you stopped and listened.
