Perez Hilton raises $10K for MusiCounts with One Night In Toronto bash

The party continued after Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards at Club XS in Toronto where celebrity blogger and host for the evening, Perez Hilton, assembled performers and famous friends to come together for his fundraising event, One Night In Toronto, in support of the charity, MusiCounts.

"Perez knows how to throw a party and Canada knows how to have a good time!," Hilton said in a press release. "My third One Night In Toronto event was such a massive success […] we were able to raise over $10,000 for MusiCounts, an amazing Canadian charity that helps keep music education in Canadian schools. The evening could not have gone better and I want to thank everyone that helped make it possible!"

Performers that lent their talent to the evening's festivities included "Call Me Maybe" sensation Carly Rae Jepsen, English folk singer Ed Sheeran, Juno Award-winning trio Dragonette, Cape Breton's My Name is Kay and Juno Award-nominated artist Anjulie.

"We are truly thankful for the funds raised last night through Perez Hilton's One Night In Toronto," Allan Reid, Director of MusiCounts, said in a statement. "None of this would have been possible without the support from Perez himself, all of the performing artists and of course all those that purchased tickets to the event."

The event's proceeds will go towards funding aspects of MusiCounts like their Band Aid Grants program, "which provides musical instrument grants to schools whose music programs have great potential yet are in need of funding to ensure their sustained growth."
