"'Sing It' is about just being free and having fun," the California native told E! News. "[It's] about letting go and letting music take over. That's how it is for me. When I listen to music, I listen to it very loud and I just forget everything else in the world."

Singing with flowers in her hair and having fun on a beautiful beach in Malibu, Black's video makes us long for the fast approaching days of summer.

"The music video [takes place] at my favourite place, ever, the beach," Black said. "I'm a total beach person, so this was one of my favourite videos. It's shows me with my friends having a great time and just letting go [in front of] a beautiful sunset."

Black recently appeared as herself in Katy Perry's music video "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" and was shocked when she heard that the "Firework" singer had even performed an acoustic version her track "Friday" during one of her concerts.

"[Having] someone I've looked up to singing my song and letting me be in her video is unimaginable," the 14-year-old said. "I'm so thankful she even knows my name."

However, even though she may have some famous friends, Black still deals with the same problems as other teenagers.

After the success of "Friday" in 2011, the Internet sensation became the target of "constant verbal bullying" and opted to be home-schooled to get away from it.

She credits her friends as the ones who have helped her make it through the tough times and has developed a way of deciding who her "true" pals are, saying, "The way I tell is to see who is going to stick by you no matter what," she said. "I have friends who stuck by my side even through everything that happened last year, so I know we'll be friends until the end."
