Rick Springfield sings ‘Jessie’s Girl’ in New York subway station

Where can we find him, a man like that? On the New York City subway, apparently!

In the midst of promoting his new album released on Oct. 9 called "Songs for the End of the World," veteran '80s rocker Rick Springfield treated New York City subway riders to a surprise performance of his classic hit "Jessie's Girl" at Manhattan's Penn Station.

According to the New York Daily News, the impromptu show took place on the morning of Oct. 10 after the 63-year-old musician tweeted, "Rick's making you late to work tomorrow in NYC starting at the 34th St. station! All aboard the 1 Train! #ricknyc."

"Love some '80s music," one viewer commented on YouTube. "As most artists try to act like they're above the normal person, here is Rick chillin' with the masses."

Wrote another: "I have to say it is so awesome of him to do this... he is such a REAL person, not like most of these PHONIES out there. A free concert for the WORLD, complements of YT!"

In 1981, "Jessie's Girl" (from the album "Working Class Dog") spent 32 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, going all the way to No. 1.

The track was also featured during the first season of "Glee" in an episode called "Laryngitis." The character of Finn Hudson, played by Canadian actor Cory Monteith, took the reins on the tune.
