Yahoo! Canada search results predict 2012 Juno Award winners

If the fate of Juno Award 2012 nominees rested in the hands of Yahoo! Canada users, then this is what the results would be.

After analyzing the frequency in which each artist was searched against his or her competitors within each category, Yahoo! Canada has compiled what the 2012 Juno Award winners would look like in three of the year's top categories.

Coming in as winner of the Fan Choice Award is Ontario's own, Justin Bieber. It's no surprise that the boy wonder is predicted to take home the only fan voted award at this year's show. His famed "Beliebers" won him the award last year, but industry experts are saying that this year could hold a few surprises in the category.

Matt Wells, host and face of MuchMore, predicts that Bieber might have some competition when it comes to the coveted fan award. "The unexpected, surprising result this year is that Justin Bieber will not win Juno Fan Choice. Dallas Green (City and Colour) is going to win it. Remember, I said it," Wells tells Yahoo! Canada Music's "The Up Beat."

According to our search results, Artist of the Year is predicted to go to one of the most sought-after artists of the past year, Deadmau5. However, again City and Colour is favoured to crush the anticipated winner. "Artist of the Year, I'm going with City and Colour," David Kines, chairman of MuchFACT, tells "The Up Beat," "I think Dallas [has] just exploded and creatively, his song writing is at its peak."

One of the year's most buzzed about bands, The Sheepdogs, came in as leader of the New Group of the Year category. This is in correlation with music writer and host of "The Secret History of Rock," Alan Cross' hope for the Saskatoon foursome. "The Sheepdogs are up for a number of awards [this year]," Cross says. "I'd like to see them cap a year by winning a Juno or two."
