  • Katy Perry is the latest superstar singer to shoot a homemade video of herself and friends partying along to Bieber protégé and Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen's undeniably catchy hit, "Call Me Maybe." • Some say that life begins at 30. But the stars of "We're Not Young" aren't exactly living the good life. Both sad and funny, the parody video from Yahoo!'s SketchY comedy series, features a 30-something guy spoofing the hit song "We Are Young," by Fun.

The tune has stayed stubbornly at number one on Billboard's hot 100, which made it a prime target for the "viral video treatment," as the Hollywood Reporter put it.

The spoof has certainly caught on: The clip has already been viewed over 600,000 times and received about 40,000 "likes" on Facebook, and counting.

  • Katy Perry is best known for her ultra-sweet style--ranging from easter-egg-colored hair to dresses made out of candy--but she turns this trademark on its ear with the new video for her latest single "Part Of Me."

In the clip, Perry reacts to a cheating boyfriend in a swift and impulsive manner: She transforms herself completely...into an iron-tough, masculine Marine. Katy...as a Marine?

Perry's metamorphosis into character is rapid and dramatic, starting with hacking all her hair off in a gas station bathroom and tossing it into the toilet. She then binds her chest, trades her sundress for an androgynous drab hoodie, and accepts a backpack and fatigues from a Marine recruiter.

  • When socialites/reality stars and music mix, the outcome is overwhelmingly bad—note Kim Kardashian and Heidi Montag. Paris Hilton, who seemed to have slipped from her hard-partying celebutante throne, is back with a new song and video entitled "Drunk Text".  Seriously.

A dance-y, thankfully spoken word song, Paris recounts the highs and lows of clubbing, drunk texting, and the consequences thereof, from racy photos to the dangers of Twitter. The beat is catchy, the lyrics are hilarious, and the video is truly distills the essence of what it means to be Paris.  Less pop, more Euro, Hilton's new song is a "Stars Are Blind" killer, and is sure to make the rounds at the all-night parties in Europe and South America. A hot, eye-rolling, monotone female vocalist is key to make a hit dance song!

  • Madonna's game faceEver since Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the 2004 Super Bowl had shocked game viewers doing spit-takes into their buffalo wings, half-time performances have been kneejerk-reactionary, sedate affairs, mostly by graying male rockers (McCartney, the Stones, Springsteen, Petty) who were pretty unlikely to have Justin Timberlake rip off their clothes mid-performance. So news that the queen of shock-pop, Madonna, would be playing the 2012 Super Bowl--accompanied by the always outrageous Nikki Minaj and the often politically radical M.I.A., yet--has had everyone wondering what to expect. Just how far will Madonna go on Sunday?

After a 19-year hiatus, beefcake actor Matthew McConaughey—a.k.a. the man comedians love to hate—has shimmied back into his tight bellbottoms, tiny tee, and creeper 'stache for Butch Walker & The Black Widows' latest music video, "Synthesizers."

...And he brought his trumpet and tiny piano with him. Wooderson does not take partying lightly.

Steve Aoki and Wynter Gordon in "Ladi Dadi" video.

I clicked on the link for Steve Aoki's "Ladi Dadi" video featuring Wynter Gordon, hoping for a remake of Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick's many times remade beatbox classic "La Di Da Di."

But just as quickly as the electro rhythm and Wynter's opening lyrics, "Dim the lights," signaled that this was not a cover, I was intrigued by the dimly-lit, dinner scene that suggested something sinister was about to take place.

Within 50 seconds, the sultry Gordon has crawled across the dining room table and kicked Steve Aoki in the face, knocking him onto the floor, where she proceeds to unleash on him a WWF-styled beatdown.

  • We're barely into January, and already 2012 is a momentous year for fans of classic rockers/Hall of Famers Van Halen. Not only did the band announce a reunion tour, the guys also confirmed they're in the studio working on their first new album with iconic original frontman David Lee Roth in nearly 30 years.

Now, here's a cherry on the sundae for all the VH fans out there: A never-before-seen video of all four members of the band performing an acoustic version of their hit "You Really Got Me." Van Halen

This tune, of course, is the band's well-loved cover of the Kinks classic, which VH adopted for their 1978 self-titled debut. It's been more than three decades since the original came out--but this is the first time VH has filmed an acoustic version of it.

The video is shot at Henson Recording Studios and includes a personal introduction from Roth, as well.

Roth nutshelled his opinion of the new clip for us: "Culturally our new video is old school meets new school. Kind of like watching Dragnet
