He did assure chatters that after he releases The Restless album on his newly formed Open Bar records, he would team up with fellow Golden State Warriors Ras Kass and Saafir to record their long-discussed collaboration. Additionally, X to the Z discussed working on Dr. Dre's Dre 2001, ghostwriting, raising his son, and almost making what would have been the biggest mistake in his career. When asked which member of his Alkaholiks crew handled his liquor best, his comical response quickly rolled off of his tongue. You gotta read it...
tupac_shakur_forever_99: hey whats sup xzibit? what do you think about you and dre working with eminem
launch_xzibit: I think it was a great period, and beneficial for my career. A great point in my career, it's tight, workin' with Dr. Dre.
don_kiluminati_the_7_day_theory: you ever think of doing any colaberating with mystikal or b.g. or lil'wayne
launch_xzibit: Well, I was on the No Limit Army tour with Snoop Dogg and Master P, and Mystikal and C-Murder ,and we talked about working together.
don_kiluminati_the_7_day_theory: what are your feelings toward cash money and no limit?? do you feel cash money is copying off of no limit and do you have any plans to go to one of those cliques????
launch_xzibit: No comment.
ernie262000: what's up my name is "E" and I want to know how long did take for you to get in the game
launch_xzibit: Well, I got signed in '96, and I was rollin' with the Alkaholiks, so I guess 6 or 7 years.
princess_1_ca: xzibit,where you from
launch_xzibit: I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
crunkdafied_jigga: are you still with tha alkaholiks?
launch_xzibit: Yeah, most definitely. Just because I'm rappin' with Dre and all these cats, we can still do different things and still keep a family unit.
chyna_may: what type of weed u smoke?
launch_xzibit: I smoke the bomb, baby! Nothin' less!
b1i2r3d: What's your real name
launch_xzibit: HAHAHA. It's on the back of my record.
straw2520: What label is King T on
launch_xzibit: I don't know, I thought he was dealin' with Aftermath, but I don't know what happened with that.
xcommoniu: I hope hurricane is not on your new album. Can you please tell me that she isn't on it?
launch_xzibit: No, Hurricane G is not on my new album.
cephus_1_1999: What's better, The Chronic or Dre 2001?
launch_xzibit: Whew, wow. You can't compare 'em like that, it was a sequel, a good follow-up from a musical standpoint. I think both of 'em are incredible albums. When Chronic came out nothing f--ked with it, and the same thing with Chronic 2001 came out, still nothin's f--king with it.
StrongManTon: xzibit do you feel at this time in your rapcarreer that you have grown mentaly enough thru life experiance that you would be able to shape west coast hip hop , as those artist before you eazy, dre, tooshort, kingtee,
launch_xzibit: Most definitely. It's one thing to be a lyricist, but to have guidance from a veteran like Dr. Dre, you know what I'm sayin', to not only make sure I got a good album to but to make sure it gets acceptance from the masses.
straw2520: Is Xzibit signing to Aftermath?
launch_xzibit: No, I got my own record label, Open Bar Entertainment.
backseatboysrock: How Did you and Dre hook up?
launch_xzibit: During the Firm album I did a little ghostwriting and uh, we just formed a relationship from there.
straw2520: Did you and Dre record the origninal Still Dre
launch_xzibit: No.
tribaltendences: Ayo where do you think hip hop is going to go in the future?
launch_xzibit: Hip-hop is only goin' up, you know what I'm sayin'? It's not just East Coast and West Coast, it's overseas, it's all over. It's universal music now.
chyna_may: what or who inspired you to write "paparazzi"
launch_xzibit: Basically it's my single, it was my introduction of what I wanted to say to the world, and what I wanted my music to say. I love to talk sh-t.
chyna_may: which song that you have out do you like best
launch_xzibit: Man, uh, man, what do I like the best? That's hard, I love all my songs.
meinwon: tech question - what kinda laptop you got dog?
launch_xzibit: Right now I'm using the new iMac at home, some sh-t with a G4. I edit my own movies at my house.
xcommoniu: why did you change the album's name to "The Restless" from "Man vs. Machine"?
launch_xzibit: It was more of a creative concept I was presenting the album, more like a storyline basically. More like a collaboration me and Dr. Dre put together, a concept record.
xcommoniu: What is your opinion of ghostwriting?
launch_xzibit: I think it serves its purposes. As long as the writers get their credit, their just due.
massiveappeal: i heard that song with you and spontaneous, Its real fat. How was it working with him?
launch_xzibit: That was a long time ago. He's cool, that's a cool cat.
jah777_2000: what are your favorite hip-hop artist today & why?
launch_xzibit: I'd have to say Pharaohe, 'cause he's barking up the same tree I'm barkin' up!
funglejunkgurl: xzibit, do you think that hiphop has suffered a decline since its beginnings on the street, and if so, do you think this id down to the corrupt music industry?
launch_xzibit: I would have to say yes and no. Yes, 'cause the content has become limited, and no because the leaps and bounds that we've made in corporate America from the beginning 'til now, it's a double-edged sword.
b1i2r3d: Xzibit,,have you ever considered acting?
launch_xzibit: No, not yet. I'm just trying to perfect this MC sh-t.
StrongManTon: what are you givin back to the community
launch_xzibit: Raising my son so he don't come f--k your community up.
chyna_may: who was your musical influence as u were growin up
launch_xzibit: My parents listened to a lot of soul music, lot of Motown greats. I was inspired by cats like Run-DMC, and LL Cool J. Public Enemy, whatever was bumpin'.
chocolate_cam: Is the Golden State project going to happen?
launch_xzibit: Yeah, definitely. It's happening after my album, it's coming out on Open Bar after The Restless LP. You can see the ads in about six months.
don_kiluminati_the_7_day_theory: whats it take to get one of those sweet xzibit charms like you got i want a real one?????/
launch_xzibit: LOL. Man, I'll give you my jeweler's number!
ryde_or_die187: how old were u when u lost ur virginity?
launch_xzibit: Whew, how old was I? 15.
massiveappeal: what do you feel about these wack rappers givin a bad name to hiphop?
launch_xzibit: I don't think they give a bad name to hip-hop, I think they give a bad name to their goddamn selves!
don_kiluminati_the_7_day_theory: i appreciate your short and to the pint answers some people drag on for hours and take forever answering something else
launch_xzibit: Well, thank you! I'm on my cell phone too, I'm payin' for this! I love you guys, it's worth it!
dryn24: Do you like southern music, if so who?
launch_xzibit: Yeah, man, I heard some cat named Pastor Troy, who I really liked. Also Big Mike and Scarface.
princessparis2000: Do you plan on doing any work with Battlecat?
launch_xzibit: Yeah, he's on my new album!
massiveappeal: xzibit what do you think of all these video cameras and fake palm trees and anntennaes going up all over LA?
launch_xzibit: Well, you know who is watching us all the time anyway, so it ain't no surprise. I just think that the people that worry about that, I don't know. You know we're all under some kind of surveillance all the time anyway.
VAN1323: Have you ever considered moving away from the underground audience and getting real mainstream
launch_xzibit: No, I mean I think that's what's so good about my situation right now, I can reach the masses and I don't have to change my content or the standpoint of my music, you know what I'm sayin'?
b1i2r3d: Xzibit,,,,,your cute,,and I was wondering if you did personal parties?
launch_xzibit: No, I mean sh-it, it depends! LOL
promodiva_2000: does it bother you that you've been in the game for so long and people are paying you attention because of your collaboration with snoop?
launch_xzibit: I've only been out since 1996. Sh-t, I'm happy that it happened now instead of later.
xcommoniu: How much is ESwift producing on your album?
launch_xzibit: We gotta sit down and start working. Right now I'm workin' with Dre.
launch_xzibit: One producer at a time. Dre's only doing five cuts on the album, the rest are gonna be worked out with the homies.
killah_thug_4life: what do think about rap/rock bands like korn, limp bizkit and kid rock, and so on????
launch_xzibit: I think that sh-t is dope. It's an offspring of hip-hop, and for it to be so successful, I take that as a compliment.
b1i2r3d: Do you have an online fanclub?? Do you have an email address ,,if so can I have it??
launch_xzibit: Yeah, in about a month I'm going to have my Open Bar site up, and it'll have info about the Chronic Tour and all that. Give me about a month, I'm workin' on it. I'm workin' on three things at once.
backseatboysrock: Was it fum collaboratin' with all those rappers when you made "Some L.A. Nig*az"?"
launch_xzibit: Oh, hell yeah. We all know each other, so it's like party time.
ezethabiti: U ever battle anybody?
launch_xzibit: LOL. Uh, no.
promodiva_2000: who drinks the most in Tha Alkaholiks crew?
launch_xzibit: ME! Those guys are wussies! E-Swift drinks a wine cooler and falls out!
funglejunkgurl: xzibit, who would u take time out of your obviously busy schedule to see at a gig, and what elements do u look for ina good mc?
launch_xzibit: I look for energy, delivery, and gotta keep the crowd into it, man. You can't just walk back and forth across the stage, that sh-t is the pits. But you ain't gotta have a gang of fireworks out there either. You don't want cats slam dancin' in tights, either!
chocolate_cam: What are you currently listening to?
launch_xzibit: I got that new Dr. Dre! I'm listening to beats mainly, I'm listenin' to beat tapes at my house. I'm tryin' to cook up a hot one for everybody.
crunkdafied_jigga: i heard that u wuz gonna do tha theme song for live from l.a. on BET...is that true?
launch_xzibit: It's been out for a couple of months.
vivrantthang_00: I JUST WANT TO COMMENT YOU ON YOUR VERSE ON "WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.I THINK YOU RIPPED THE TRACK!
launch_xzibit: Thank you very much. I try to do my best, man.
cool9man: Do you think you're getting the respect you deserve?
launch_xzibit: I don't look for respect in order to be justified. I think my career is still growing, and when I get to the place I wanna be at that's when I'll look for respect.
LUVU4ALWAYS21: WHAT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE YOU MADE WHILE TRYING TO MAKE IT TO WHERE YOU ARE?
launch_xzibit: Sh-t, man. I don't know, 'cause all the mistakes I've made, there's probably somethin' important. I ain't really made no major mistakes. Almost beating up the CEO of your record label was a big mistake. LOL.
vivrantthang_00: HOW HAS YOUR LIFE CHANGED SINCE AFTER YOU GOT A DEAL?
launch_xzibit: Well, I just wasn't in the street as much. I was more focused on makin' music, that's what I began to do. That's all that's really changed, really.
chocolate_cam: Who would you like to work with that you didn't get a chance to work with on this new album?
launch_xzibit: I'm workin' with all the people that I want to bring on this album. The next album I'll be able to reach higher up on the food chain.
ezethabiti: WHO IS THE COOLEST ALCOHOLIC?
launch_xzibit: All of us.
wolvey7: can we expect an album or a track featuring the whole liquid crew, or are you all focusing on solo projects?
launch_xzibit: There's goin' to be a track with all of us on there.
LUVU4ALWAYS21: DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF YOUNGER PEOPLE?
launch_xzibit: With my music? Sh-t, yeah.
aangelddust: what do u think about the hip hop situation right now??? i personally believe it's out of controll. i mean the videos are all the same( artificial fake so called ladies, cars that ain't even theirs, rented jewlery and houses, booty dancing...... aren't you anxious to see wen it's all gonna go back like it was back in the dayz.....cause we all know it ain't gonna last forever
launch_xzibit: Well, you said it yourself. If the consumer wants it, it's obviously what the public wants. If that's what the people keep buying and supporting, then that's what's gonna be on the mainstream. It's the record companies that are putting it out, it ain't just the artists. The booty dancin' and all that is what's happenin' right now.
john_meeatt: Hey Xzibit who came up with the concept for the "What You See..." video? That was a hot video man.
launch_xzibit: That was my concept and it was executed by Gregory Dark.
massiveappeal: do you ever get stage fright or get nervous?
launch_xzibit: No, I love performin'. I can't wait to get out on the stage.
jenni_jenn_y2k: You say higher up on the food chain... Who is the highest in your opinion?
launch_xzibit: I mean, I don't know. It could be some cat that ain't even out yet. Once you get more freedom financially, you can do bigger projects, you can encompass more people into what you want to do. You can do bigger sh-t, like with an orchestra or somethin', you know what i'm sayin?
massiveappeal: what do you think a hiphopper like myself can do to end jiggness and wackemceeism?
launch_xzibit: Well, you just, it's a matter of opinion really. I mean, you just keep doin' what you gotta do, and keep makin' the music you're makin' and try to stay grounded to that sh-t.
slc_18: what would you be doing if you were not a rapper?
launch_xzibit: Probably holding you up! LOL, I'm just kidding. Probably be an architect, 'cause that's what I was studying in school.
launch_host: Okay, that was the last question.
launch_xzibit: I just appreciate what I've been gettin' from everybody since '96 Look for my new album The Restless LP. Keep hip-hop movin'--The Restless LP is coming out this summer.
