A week prior to the release of Trick Daddy's latest, Thugs R Us, the out-of-control Miami rap star--who's currently enjoying the success of his current single, "Take It To Da House"--made a pit stop by the LAUNCH chatroom. Among other things, he talked about hooking up with Trina (we received so many questions about her) in junior high school, release plans for another album by the end of this year, and his fondness for the Miami Heat, obviously his favorite basketball team. He was a bit reserved when asked about his time in jail and about his taste in women, but sometimes brief answers are the most informative of all. Let's see if you can read between the lines...

launchguest_trick_daddy: The closest person I was to was my brother, but he got killed. I've never really had a role model.

launchguest_trick_daddy: Right now, we're doing a promotional tour--just radio and letting em know the album coming out. I'm pretty sure that with "Take It To Da House" being so hot, we're gonna be starting something soon. I'm not supposed to hear that stuff, but my manager, he be slipping sometimes--I overhear him talkin'.

launchguest_trick_daddy: It started when I was in prison, about 15 or 16, but in prison it's hard to do music, especially when nobody knows you.

launchguest_trick_daddy: Skip the age, but the advice is if you wanna do it, do it, be 100 percent at it, don't let anybody tell you it can't happen.
chizzzle: trick how did you hook up with slip and slide?
launchguest_trick_daddy: Well, my brother, the one that was killed, he was friends with the owner. When I was in prison, I was writing to him and telling him I wanted to do music...that's how it happened.

launchguest_trick_daddy: Well, I missed his album, I missed his deadline because I was on tour. But whenever he wanna do one, it's all good with me.

launchguest_trick_daddy: Hopefully still making music. Hopefully in the game still. Probably with a record company--I'd put groups out myself.
jael_trinity_31: that must have been tough losing your brother, how did you handle that?
launchguest_trick_daddy: Well, when he died, I was in prison. There was nothing I could do or say. As a matter of fact, at the funeral, I was shackled down.

launchguest_trick_daddy: It takes some money, man--I don't know approximately how much, but it's gonna take some money!

launchguest_trick_daddy: Prison. 'Cuz I went in at 14, and that's not a place for a person at the age of 14 to be in. I stayed too long, and once you get out, you always remember that.

launchguest_trick_daddy: I've done the things I've needed to do, there are some people I need to work with, but I have to wait for them to get off tour: Money Mark, Cee-Lo, Lost Tribe, Trina, J.V.

launchguest_trick_daddy: I like Eminem. It's a lot of music that I don't think should be doing what they're doing. Some people make the music, and then people push it further than what it really is.

launchguest_trick_daddy: No, my music is reality. Man, my cell battery's going dead. I'm on the way to the mall to find something to wear to Eve's party tonight.
