No. 1 NIN Impress Filter, Need Web Programmer

09/29/1999 7:00 PM, Yahoo! Music
Craig Rosen

(9/29/99, 4 p.m. PDT) - Nine Inch Nails' new album, The Fragile, lived up to the hype as it debuted at No. 1 on the SoundScan charts today (LAUNCH, 9/29).

The first Nine Inch Nails album since 1994's The Downward Spiral wasn't only anticipated by fans, but also by the music community. Former Nine Inch Nails member Richard Patrick, who now fronts Filter, tells LAUNCH about his feelings for Trent Reznor and NIN's new effort.

"I haven't had a chance to hear it or sit down and listen to [The Fragile], [but] I always expect great things from Trent Reznor. I always look forward to whatever he does. He's a genius and a good friend."

In other Nine Inch Nails news, the band is looking for a programmer for its website, www.nin.com. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of Flash, Shockwave, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CGI, Perl, and other Internet-related programming languages. Applicants must be 18 or older and must be willing to travel. Other skills that would be helpful to applicants are server administration, streaming media experience, and knowledge of advanced programming languages such as C++. Interested applicants should email their resumes to Nine Inch Nails at anomaly@nin.com.
