(9/29/99, 1 p.m. PDT) - What's it like being on one of the hottest tours of the fall--the Family Values trek? For Filter, things are just going great. Filter frontman Richard Patrick tells LAUNCH that the bands are really gelling. "Me and [Limp Bizkit frontman] Fred [Durst] are constantly pal-ing around, all the guys," he says. "There's none of this bulls--t rock star [stuff]...We're not from that world. All these bands are young and pretty much have a punk ethic of 'Hey let's just get up there and have a blast.' I'm stoked. Fred's been so supportive; the other bands, Staind, all those guys are amazing, and we just pal around. We just drink coffee and eat cheeseburgers and have a good time." Patrick says that the bands have found some interesting things to do in their spare time. "The guy in Staind has a motorcycle, a little dirt bike that he bought--and then Fred went out and bought one. And then Fred went out and bought an ATV. So we spend a lot of time running around on those things. It's pretty fun." Tonight Family Values will hit the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y.
