(9/26/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Barry White is now undergoing dialysis therapy, his spokesperson announced Wednesday (September 25) in a statement.
The R&B legend has a history of hypertension, resulting in high blood pressure; and now, a decline of kidney function as diagnosed by doctors. Once White is in stabilized condition through the dialysis, he will become a candidate for a kidney transplant, the statement said.
White is signed to Def Jam Classics and at last report had been working on two albums for the label. He is best known for the mid-'70s hits "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe" and "You're The First, The Last, My Everything."
