Hootie & The Blowfish Return With 'Innocence'

(3/7/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- After a more than four-year wait, Hootie & The Blowfish released its first album of all new material on Tuesday (March 4). "Innocence," the first single from the self-titled album, was shipped to radio January 24 and is already gaining airplay.

Bassist Dean Felber explains that "Innocence" wasn't necessarily an obvious choice for a first single, but it's the track people liked most. "I don't know if it was a total obvious choice. I mean, we were worried about it being a little ballady. It kinda worried us as a first single," Felber said. "But it just seemed to be the one that people would kind of like the most, and that's kind of what we were assuming you'd go for on a first single."
