(7/10/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- The soundtrack to the motion picture American Wedding is set to arrive in stores on July 22, 10 days before the third installment of the American Pie sequels hits theaters on August 1.
The soundtrack to American Wedding features Foo Fighters' "Times Like These"; a brand new Avril Lavigne track, "I Don't Give"; a new track by New Found Glory, "Forget Everything"; and a new track from Blue October, "Calling You."
Blue October singer/songwriter Justin Furstenfeld told LAUNCH that "Calling You"'s appearance on the soundtrack was part of the band's decision to re-sign with Universal Records for its next album, History For Sale. "Our label was involved in the music making of this movie and so when they were talking to us they said, 'We think this will be perfect for this soundtrack,' and I was like, 'Please, try to get it on there,'" Furstenfeld said. "So, hopefully when I go see the movie I can take my girlfriend, who I wrote it about, and get to see the song that I wrote for her birthday on screen. That would be really cool--really touching."
Other tracks slated for the American Wedding soundtrack include the Wallflowers' cover of Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic," Sum 41's "The Hell Song," and All-American Rejects' "Swing Swing," among others.
The movie stars Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Sean William Scott, and Eddie Kaye Thomas.
