(5/13/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Staind releases its new album, 14 Shades Of Grey, on May 20. The band's guitarist, Mike Mushok, says the album's title is a realization that instances where situations are black and white are few and far between. "I think it's kind of referring to how in life there's black and white and then there's this grey area,” Mushok said. “I think the older you get you start to realize that more things are grey and not so much black and white."
The band's first single is "Price To Play," which is currently at Number seven on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.
To promote 14 Shades Of Grey, Staind has lined up free shows in New York, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Each performance will be preceded by an in-store appearance--except for New York, which gets two area in-stores, one before the show and one the next day.
