Third Eye Blind, Eve 6 Go To College

(10/5/98, 6 p.m. PDT) - Alternative rockers Third Eye Blind and Eve 6 will are teaming up for a Fall tour of colleges sponsored by MTV. Dubbed "MTV's Campus Invasion," the tour will kick off on Oct. 24 at the University Of Nebraska and will hit more than 20 colleges in the U.S.

The MTV tie-in will give the trek an extra promotional push. On Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. (EDT/ PDT), the music channel will run a special featuring brand-new video from the bands as well as interviews.

Third Eye Blind is among the most commercially successful new rock acts to emerge in the last few years. Its self-titled debut album has been certified for sales of 2 million copies. This week, it's No. 58 in its 77th week on the Billboard 200.

The eponymous debut by Eve 6 has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies. This week the album is No. 45 in its 16th week on the Billboard 200.
