Ice Cube Bashes Report On Notorious B.I.G.

(9/11/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Add Ice Cube to the list of artists angered by the Los Angeles Times report claiming that the late Notorious B.I.G. orchestrated the killing of fellow rapper Tupac Shakur. The paper alleged that Notorious B.I.G. paid gang members to carry out the murder. When asked about the article on the Doug Banks syndicated radio show on Tuesday (September 10), Ice Cube--a rapper-actor and filmmaker whose new movie, Barbershop, opens on Friday (September 13)--shot down the allegations in the story.

Ice Cube said, "Neither one of them wanted to kill each other or had anything to do with each other's death." Ice Cube added the report made him so angry he wanted to burn the paper, but he also directed some of the anger at members of the hip-hop community who get into beefs that fuel such talk, saying, "When we start arguing in public, that's the perfect time for someone to kill us and blame each other."
