Third Eye Blind's 'Crystal Baller' Out February 12

(11/14/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Third Eye Blind's forthcoming album, Crystal Baller, is now set for release February 12. The album will feature a guest appearance by Andrew W.K. on the song "F--ked Up Kid" as well as a guest vocal appearance by the Moldy Peaches' Kimya Dawson on "Self Righteous."

The album has been pushed back several times, but singer-songwriter Stephan Jenkins told LAUNCH that the band is just about done. "We're finishing up some vocals and mixing it right now, and it's going really well. It's just like, that last little bit is a lot of work."

Jenkins said the band's summer tour and his own high standards led to the album's delay. When asked by LAUNCH what's the hardest part about finishing an album, Jenkins replied. "Probably it's, for me, finishing the lyrics. I think the expectations on the lyrics for me is so high that to write un-self-consciously is always tough."

Third Eye Blind plans to tour in the beginning of 2003 to support the album, recorded at the band's Mourningwood studios.
