C-Murder Explains His Low Profile

(8/10/00, 7 a.m. ET) - Although the artists on Master P's No Limit Records have been among the most prolific hip-hop artists in the last five years, one of the more prominent members of the No Limit family cannot be included in that category.

C-Murder, who is Master P's younger brother, has released two albums in that time, but he has been one of the label's more mysterious and least-heard-from artists. He rarely appeared on the albums from other No Limit artists, unlike Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Magic, and others.

C-Murder told LAUNCH why he maintains a relatively low profile. "You know, it's just my personality," he said. "It just really wasn't my time, either. I just had myself in the studio developing more until I felt I was more comfortable to get on more songs. It just was a period of developing and just getting more confident with yourself and your style."

C-Murder is gearing up for the release of his third album, Trapped In Crime, which is scheduled for a September 5 release. His first two albums, 1998's Life Or Death and 1999's Bossalinie, were certified platinum and gold, respectively.

C-Murder makes one of his rare guest appearances on "Wobble Wobble," the lead single from No Limit's 504 Boyz Goodfellas album, which has sold more than 710,000 copies, according to industry sources. The song also features Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Mac, Magic, Mystikal, and Krazy. C-Murder also appears on the album's "Up Town" with Master P and Mac.
