Family Values Tour To Start Sept. 21

(8/24/99, 1 p.m. PDT) - The Family Values lineup and tour has been confirmed. It will start Sept. 21 in Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Civic Center, finish up Oct. 31 at Biloxi, Mississippi's Coast Coliseum, and comprising the core lineup are Limp Bizkit, Filter, and the Crystal Method. Rapper DMX is scheduled to do the first half of the tour, while Method Man and Redman are on for the remainder.

Filter, for one, is psyched for the show--frontman Richard Patrick tells LAUNCH that the band has been planning it for a while. "It's something we were offered a long time ago, and we kept in touch with the guys from Korn, and we just kind of like the idea of Family Values. I think the bands are all good and I think it's an interesting idea to be on tour with so many diverse acts."

Korn is recording its new album, so it has bowed out of its own festival for 1999. Korn was on last year's very successful inaugural Family Values concert, which also featured Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, Orgy, and Incubus.

Peter Katsis of Korn's management team, the Firm, says, "We're trying to stay on top of what's happening, but we like to say that we're doing it the old-fashioned way. Rock 'n' roll was always something scary that your parents didn't want to know about. With acts like Limp Bizkit and DMX we're trying to keep those old 'family' values."
