98 Degrees Singer Nick Lachey Weds Jessica Simpson

(10/29/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, 28, and Jessica Simpson, 22, were married over the weekend at the Riverbend Chapel in Austin, Texas. The reception was held at the Barton Creek Resort, also in Austin.

The couple, who were attempting to keep the wedding ceremony and reception location under wraps, were apparently unaware that a radio broadcasting company, Entercom, was also holding a conference at Barton Creek that same weekend. Radio programming and promotions executives from Entercom were quite amused watching the celebrity couple and their families make the final preparations for the wedding reception, a source at Buffalo, New York-based, Entercom-owned, radio station WTSS (Star 102.5) told LAUNCH.

Now that Lachey and Simpson are married, LAUNCH wanted to be the first to ask the couple if they'd eventually like to have children. We asked Lachey his thoughts on the matter. "I love kids, and I can't wait to have kids. I just want to make sure that it's the right time in both of our lives and especially for her," he said. "She's got a lot of things she wants to do, you know, career-wise--musically, acting, so whenever she's ready--I'm probably ready."
