Semisonic's Wilson Likes The 'Chemistry' Of Texas Pairing

(2/9/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Minneapolis-bred trio Semisonic is continuing its tour of the U.K. with Texas while it awaits the March 13 U.S. release of All About Chemistry, its followup to its platinum-selling 1998 breakthrough album, Feeling Strangely Fine.
Semisonic singer-songwriter Dan Wilson tells LAUNCH that he finds the band's pairing with Texas interesting. "It's a funny match, because they're English, I mean Scottish, I guess. But, anyway, they're Brittons who seem to be obsessed with sounding American, like the way they play guitar and everything about them is very American-influenced. And, I think it's sort of the opposite of us. Like, I don't sing with an English accent, but I sure play guitar with an English accent. I think it's sort of an interesting combination."
Semisonic and Texas played Wembley Arena in London on Thursday (February 8) and wrap up the two-night stand tonight (February 9).
The band will celebrate its return to the U.S. with a free show on February 23 at Irving Plaza in New York City.
