(9/5/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Shaggy will premiere his new single "Hey Sexy Lady" Friday (September 6) on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The song, produced by Robert Livingston and Chris Birch, is the first single from Shaggy's fifth album, Lucky Day, due out on October 29.
Shaggy told LAUNCH that the track is an ode to beautiful women. "The song is just here to promote ladies, man, and to uplift them in a way. If you're sexy, and you're hot, I'm not talkin' about them chicks that think they're sexy. I'm talking about the ones that know they're sexy. You know, I don't care if they were naturally sexy or they bought it. 'If it works for you baby, flaunt it.' That's what I'm talking about."
Shaggy's 2001 album Hot Shot included the mega hit "It Wasn't Me," and sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
