(10/30/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Former Dr. Dre protege The D.O.C. will release his third album Deuce early next year. The album includes collaborations with Ice Cube, MC Ren, Xzibit, and Kurupt, and production from Organized Noize and Jazze Pha. Kurupt is featured on "Concrete Jungle," the album's first single which also includes members of the D.O.C.'s Silverback Gorillas.
The album includes the all-star song, "Tha S---," with guest raps from MC Ren, Ice Cube, and Xzibit. Based in his hometown of Dallas, Texas, the D.O.C. has launched Silverback Records, his own independent label and production company, which includes artists 6Two, Uptight, El Dorado, and Cadillac Seville. 6Two is featured on Dr. Dre's Dr. Dre 2001.
The D.O.C.'s last album, Helter Skelter, was released in 1996, following his gold-certified classic 1989 debut No One Can Do It Better. In 1989, the rapper was involved in a near-fatal car accident that caused serious injuries to his larynx, impairing his rapping.
