(10/14/97) - Judas Priest have returned to the metal scene after a seven-year hiatus and the departure of their image-making frontman, Rob Halford. The band has a new disc, Jugulator, out on CMC International Records--the same label that has revived the hard-rockin' careers of old-school headbangers like Dokken, Iron Maiden, L.A. Guns, Motorhead and even Yes. Of special note is Halford's replacement, Tim "Ripper" Owens; Owens has been preparing for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many years, as he used to be the lead singer for a Judas Priest cover band.
