Shaggy's 'Hey Sexy Lady' Is First Single From 'Lucky Day'

(8/27/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- Shaggy is singing a new tune, and it's called "Hey Sexy Lady." LAUNCH has learned the song is the first single from Shaggy's upcoming album, Lucky Day, and he'll perform the track when he appears on the The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on September 6. While Shaggy's in Hollywood that week, he'll also shoot the video for "Hey Sexy Lady," which fans can listen to via shaggyonline.com.

"Hey Sexy Lady" won't officially hit radio until September 3, but the single is generating excitement about the release of Lucky Day, a follow-up to his multiplatinum-selling Hotshot. The new album is expected to be out by October 29.

Fans of Shaggy can already get their hands on Original Doberman, a recently released album from the Grammy-winning Jamaican singer that contains digitally remastered versions of Shaggy's earliest recordings, including four collaborations with Rayvon, the singer featured on the Shaggy's recent hit, "Angel."

In other Shaggy/Rayvon news, both artists are on the bill for On Da Reggae Tip show taking place September 8 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, a concert that will also feature performances by Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, and Sean Paul.
