(5/28/03, 7 a.m. ET) -- Seven bullets were fired into the front door, windows, and wall of Suge Knight's Tha Row offices in West Los Angeles on early Tuesday (May 27), according to police. No one was injured in the 2:30 a.m. PT shooting. A police spokesman told the Associated Press that there is no indication of a motive for the shooting, and there are no witnesses.

Tha Row, which was formerly known as Death Row Records, was founded by and is currently owned by Knight.

Not one to miss an opportunity for publicity for his artists and his label--the music mogul issued a statement Tuesday saying that the shooter may have been motivated by jealousy. "We've got a lot of artists like Crooked I, Eastwood, and Kurupt that are currently working on new albums. And, because of the hype and media attention associated with these two projects, there have been a lot of girls flocking to see them at the studio and at the clubs. The crime was probably committed by a jealous boyfriend or a jealous husband."

Knight was released on parole in August 2001, after serving five years in prison for assault and federal weapons charges.
