Eve 6 To Spread The 'Horror' With New Tour
06/29/2000 5:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(6/29/00, 5 p.m. ET) - Eve 6 will hit the road next week for a series of warm-up gigs in support of its second album, Horrorscope, which is due in stores on July 25. The Los Angeles pop-punk trio will be joined by Goldfinger and Dynamite Hack for the tour, set to begin in Atlanta on July 6 and wind its way through much of the western United States through most of the month.
The tour and album open a new chapter for the group, which arrived on the national scene with a self-titled major-label debut
that stemmed from the band's signing while they were still in high school. Eve 6 drummer Tony Fagenson tells LAUNCH that they learned a lot from their early rock experiences and that times have since changed.
quot;We didn't know what we were, and we didn't know what we wanted, and how we wanted to be perceived,quot; he says. quot;It was such a new thing to us that we were just kinda going with the ride. Now, after what we've learned we've taken more control and, you know, are showing people the real us more. We're a band with punk-rock roots and I want that to come across, you know. It might not have come across as much in the first record.quot;
Fagenson adds, quot;We're just being a lot more natural about things [and] we're not being as precious. We're more open-minded and happier now.quot;
