(6/29/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Youthful pop-punkers Eve 6 are preparing for the July 25 release of Horrorscope, the follow-up to the group's successful self-titled 1998 debut album. Drummer Tony Fagenson tells LAUNCH that the band "didn't try and reinvent the wheel" for Horrorscope, hoping instead just to improve on the pop and rock strengths of the debut. But Fagenson did admit that going into it, the group had to rid itself of the pressure of writing an album with hits in mind. "I think in the first couple weeks of just writing and hanging out again and rehearsing, all those fears went away because we were like, you know, no matter what, we're just gonna make the best record we can make, whether it's our 10th or our first," he says. "It doesn't matter. So that kinda led us through and we stopped thinking about everything else and just focused on the music, and at the end of the day we were like, 'OK, we did it.' You know? 'We're happy with this.' So, the pressure kinda melted away when we started having fun with it and just created music, because that's what we love to do." Look for Horrorscope's first single, "Promise," to make its mark on radio. And look for Eve 6 to hit the road for most of next month with Dynamite Hack and Goldfinger. The tour commences on July 6 in Atlanta. -- Neal Weiss, Los Angeles
