(9/21/99, 4 p.m. PDT) - The Miss You Love EP that Silverchair recently released in Australia contains three additional tracks not found on the band's latest album, Neon Ballroom. Singer/ guitarist Daniel Johns tells LAUNCH that those tracks, the band's covers of Black Flag's "Fix Me" and "Wasted," as well as Minor Threat's "Minor Threat," are a bonus for the fans and a lot of fun for the band.

"We used to play those songs," he explains. "We had covered them at live gigs sometimes." Johns says the band opted to include the covers in an attempt "to do something a little bit different, and just not put anything on there." He adds that the inclusion of the bonus tracks give fans "a little bit more value for their money."

In the spirit of the punk ethic, the band didn't take a lot of time to record the B-sides. "In the studio, we were there for like an hour, tops," Johns recalls. "We just bashed them out and that was it."
