Twist The Pounds Away With Chubby

(12/17/99, 10 a.m. ET) - Chubby Checker is celebrating his 40th year in show business, and last month he declared the next 40 months "The Chubby Checker Era." Now the 58-year-old inventor of "The Twist" offers a new way to twist the pounds away with the "Twist-A-Sizer," a new aerobic and cardiovascular exercising machine for the upper and lower body.

Checker explains: "We have a machine called the 'Twist-A-Sizer.' It is a twisting machine. It is a platform with three discs on it that look like old 78 records but when you stand on them--they actually move in a circle back and forth. And you put on your favorite music and you do your steps on top of the 'Twist-A-Sizer' and you get a great workout, because if you do the pony on the 'Twist-A-Sizer,' it moves with you. In the meantime, your whole body gets a workout.

"Then it has some arms on it so you can bend and pick yourself up and do all kinds of things to your favorite music," he adds "That's gonna be coming out in January. You're gonna be seeing Chubby Checker on all these little infomercials everywhere."
