Lollapalooza 2003 Rolling After Early Setbacks

(8/15/03, 6 p.m. ET) -- The Jane's Addiction-headlined Lollapalooza tour is rolling along after overcoming a few bumps at the beginning of the tour. Lollapalooza had to cancel both its opening date--which was scheduled for June 3 in Ionia, Michigan--and a July 26 date at Vernon Downs racetrack just outside of New York City due to poor ticket sales and some production issues.

The tour has run smoothly since, and guitarist Dave Navarro told LAUNCH he didn't know why the tour had trouble in the beginning, considering how well it's going now. "Yeah, this is going great," Navarro said. "Honestly, you're asking me a lot of questions that I couldn't possibly know the answer to, and I don't know the answer to that one either. It just didn't happen. We're not trippin' on that. You know, we're having a great time. So, a show here or there in the big scheme of things is really insignificant."

Besides Jane's Addiction, Lollapalooza also features Incubus, Audioslave, and the Donnas, among others. Queens Of The Stone Age played their last Lollapalooza show on Wednesday (August 13) in Fiddler's Green, Colorado. A Perfect Circle takes their place starting Friday (August 15) in Phoenix, Arizona.
