Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Kinks, More On 'Amerian Dreams' Soundtrack

(4/17/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, the Kinks and the Zombies are among the artists who appear on American Dreams Original Soundtrack: 1963-1964, in stores on May 6 from Hip-O/Universal Records. The collection is based on the music featured on the weekly NBC series American Dreams and also includes classics by Martha & The Vandellas, Otis Redding, and the Temptations.

The American Dreams soundtrack also includes cover versions of songs by today's hot pop artists who've appeared on the program in guest roles as stars of the past, including Vanessa Carlton as Dusty Springfield, B2K as the Temptations, India.Arie as Nina Simone, Duncan Sheik as Bobby Darin, and Vivian Green as Brenda Holloway. Series co-stars Brittany Snow and Vanessa Lengies sing back-up for Stacie Orrico's version of the Angels' "My Boyfriend's Back."

American Dreams airs Sunday on NBC at 8 p.m. PT/ET.
