(10/8/99, 4 p.m. PDT) - The 1960 Jazz Master guitar owned by Live guitarist Chad Taylor was stolen while on tour Oct. 6 in the Southeast. Taylor called the surf-green guitar "Ruby Lou," which is inscribed in red letters on the instrument. The guitar was stolen sometime between the band's show at the Bayfront Auditorium in Pensacola, Fla. and its show Oct. 7 at New Orleans' House Of Blues. "Ruby Lou has been my main tool of expression for the past five years," Taylor said in a statement. "All of the passion and love for music that I have has been channeled through that guitar. Please help me find it." The guitar was used on Live's new album, The Distance To Here, which was released Oct. 5. The serial number on the guitar is 42513, and it was housed in a rectangular-shaped brown road case. There is a reward of $1,000 for the guitar, no questions asked. Those who have leads or information about its whereabouts can call Doris at Friends Of Live, (610) 866-6689 or email FOLinfo@aol.com. As of press time there are still few leads.
