Korn Comes Alive On DVD

(10/12/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Korn will issue a live DVD on November 19, culled from the band's June performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The Hammerstein show was digitally simulcast to movie theaters across the U.S. on the eve of the release of group's album, Untouchables.

The DVD features 16 songs from the June 10 concert, including "Here To Stay," "Got The Life," and "Blind." The concert was shot by director Jim Gable (Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Sting) with high definition cameras.

After the show, Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told LAUNCH the band was glad to be a part of such a ground-breaking event. "The Hammerstein thing was a lot of fun. I mean that was another challenge that we wanted to give ourselves. By doing something like that in all the movie theaters, it's never been done before...It was cool. I mean, the production was done very well, and I think a lot of people around the country enjoyed something like that. Keeping the fans involved is real important."

Korn will also release a special edition of the Untouchables album on November 19. It will include a bonus DVD featuring two songs from the Hammerstein set, "Here To Stay" and "Got The Life," along with two previously unreleased performances.

Korn is on tour with Disturbed and TRUSTcompany as support acts.
