(11/3/00, 7 a.m. ET) - Creed's Scott Stapp, Hootie & the Blowfish, Sugar Ray's Stan Frazier, and Collective Soul's Ed Roland and Shane Evans are just a few of the stars appearing at the Fairway To Heaven charity golf tournament, which airs November 11 on VH1.
Stapp told LAUNCH he's into sports like baseball and basketball, but he finds himself spending more time on the links. "Now I'm playing more golf whenever we have time off," he said. "We kind of go out there and hack around and hit the ball at people and wreck the golf carts and drink beer. It's just a way to get away from everything and not think about what's going on."
Fairway To Heaven was taped last month in Las Vegas and also features Will Smith and Charlize Theron, who star in the golf-themed movie The Legend Of Bagger Vance. Other celebrities participating include Lisa Loeb, Dweezil Zappa, Poison's Brett Michaels, Queensryche's Geoff Tate and Michael Wilton, Bon Jovi's David Bryan and Tico Torres, Branford Marsalis, Damon Wayans, and Jane Seymour.
Pro golfers involved include Jim Colbert, Gary Nicklaus, Scott Simpson, Craig Stadler, Jim Thorpe, and Jim Gerber.
