Xzibit To Host 'Rhyme Night' Talent Showcase

(4/18/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Rapper Xzibit will host a new monthly talent showcase in Los Angeles called "Rhyme Night," for the best signed and unsigned hip-hop talent throughout the West Coast. The official kick-off is slated for May 28 from 9:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. at Sixteen-Fifty, which is located at 1650 Shrader Boulevard in Hollywood.

Xzibit shared his thoughts on the new showcase in a statement. "This event will give Southern California hip-hop heads a place to call their own," Xzibit said. "I know the struggle of getting put on in the rap game. For years, I hit up every open mic and underground hip-hop event that was taking place....Now, I intend to give back to the community that has supported my career and contributed to my success. 'Rhyme Night' will provide a much needed platform where people can come for the love of the music and have a chance of getting discovered."

Open auditions for "Rhyme Night" are scheduled for Saturday, May 24 from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at Sixteen-Fifty.
