Matchbox 20 Auctions Front Row Tickets For Charity

(4/21/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Matchbox Twenty is auctioning front row tickets on eBay to select concerts on its More Than You Think You Are tour. The proceeds will benefit the Speak Up campaign run by PAX.

PAX is an organization dedicated to bringing an end to the gun violence epidemic in America.

The Speak Up campaign was launched by PAX in October 2002, and it features the first-ever free, anonymous hotline for students to report weapon threats in their schools and neighborhoods. The hotline number is 1-866-SPEAK-UP.

Matchbox Twenty guitarist Adam Gaynor said that the band always does whatever it can to help out organizations such as PAX. "Yeah, I mean it's a great thing to be able to do things for people as far as trying to make other people aware of things," Gaynor said, "and if you can have any kind of contribution to whether it's a charity organization or whether it's an awareness organization--it's something that is a great thing if you can do it."

You can bid on tickets for tour dates in New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and other major cities. Another round of tickets will go up for bid in June and July.
