Limp Bizkit Says Hiatus Was Too Long

(9/23/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Out Tuesday (September 23) is Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary. It's the group's first new album since Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water in 2000, with the gap caused mostly by the departure of guitarist Wes Borland and Limp Bizkit's search for his replacement--which turned out to be former Snot member Mike Smith.

Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal told LAUNCH that Limp Bizkit hated to be away for so long. "We're the people that hate bands that don't put out records in three or four years," Lethal said. "When Rage Against The Machine took, like, five years to put out a record, you know, we were like, 'What the hell is going on? We want to hear another record!' So to have that turn right around on us, it was basically the driving force that kept us going. To have what you, like, hate in a band happen to you is so frustrating."

Results May Vary actually features the second set of new songs Limp Bizkit recorded since Chocolate Starfish. They made an album with frontman Fred Durst and members of the band's crew playing guitar, but scrapped it after Smith joined the band--though some of the songs were rerecorded for Results May Vary.

Durst produced Results May Vary and also directed the video for the first single, "Eat You Alive."

A limited, deluxe edition of the album includes a bonus DVD with a 35-minute excerpt from the band's upcoming DVD Poop. The full-length release will have interviews, performance and backstage footage, and some special guest stars.
