(4/22/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- Death Row Records head Suge Knight said he believes slain rapper Tupac Shakur would disapprove of the Nas collaboration "Thugz Mansion." Knight said that he would never have let Nas record the track, despite Shakur's estate request that Nas guest on the song. Knight believes that Shakur would only want to work with someone that he respected.
Knight told MTV, "I think it's real disrespectful to Pac. You gotta put a price on fame; it can't be to the point where you'll do anything for a hit. Be a man and have respect. If you can't respect nobody else, respect yourself. Don't go [do a song] knowing a certain individual didn't care for you."
Knight is currently penning an autobiography, due out in November. He has said the book will be a tell-all behind the scenes of Death Row Records.
