(4/28/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Kid Rock, Korn bassist Fieldy, and Limp Bizkit DJ Lethal, contributed to the forthcoming DMC solo album, Chex, Thuggs And Rock & Roll, set for release in October. Rock is a major force on the album, producing DMC's first single from the collection, "Find My Way."
DMC and partner Run formed one of the most influential rap outfits in history, Run-DMC, with the late Jam Master Jay.
Run said that everyone who contributed to DMC's album has rap in their souls. "Limp Bizkit, Korn, Kid Rock, they all listen to it their whole life," "Run said. "They feel rap. I know Kid Rock pretty good. He's a DJ. He loves it. He plays the guitar. He raps. This is what they love to do. And they believed in it, and they're successful at it because they love it. They couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to do it. Kid Rock had to do it. He love it. Felt it in his heart. Another kid might not feel it. Many people have [felt] many things in their heart, and this is what these guys truly feel, so I bless and commend them all for doing what they do. And I respect them all."
DMC told MTV that the album is "one of the best records I've ever made." He also said the themes of the album are diversity and peace.
