Third Eye Blind Pulls Out Of Benefit, Beck Added
12/13/2001 4:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Kastle
(12/13/01, 4 p.m. ET) -- Third Eye Blind has cancelled its appearance at the Silver Lining Silver Lake benefit set for Saturday (December 15) at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, but Beck has been added to the second night of the event Friday (December 14). He will be performing on a bill with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others.
Without the San Francisco band, organizers decided to pull the plug on the third day of shows, making it now a two-day event. All proceeds from the two remaining concerts go to benefit the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic.
However, Third Eye Blind didn't leave the organization in the hole, as they have pledged to make a financial contribution in lieu of the show. Third Eye Blind has long been supportive of the clinic, and is impressed with the work of its members and service provided within the community.
The benefit started Thursday (December 13) night with Elton John, Sting, Daniel Lanois, Deborah Falconer and Bostich of the Nortec Collective and its hosts were Robert Downey Jr. and Christina Ricci.
On Friday (December 14), the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck,Jaguares, Aimee Mann, Jurassic 5, DJ Keoki, and Norton Wisdom will perform as planned. Hosts this evening are Johnny Knoxville, Tony Hawk, Kelly Slater, Adam Carolla, and Dr. Drew.
