Semisonic Not Overly Concerned With Sales

(3/26/01, 7 a.m. ET) -- Semisonic's latest, All About Chemistry, isn't exactly burning up the charts. The album entered the Billboard 200 at Number 103 this week, a disappointing showing given the platinum-plus sales of the band's breakthrough album, 1998's Feeling Strangely Fine. Nonetheless, singer-songwriter Dan Wilson told LAUNCH that he's not overly concerned with sales figures.
"Like a certain number of fans are going to be interested in what we do and not interested in it because they want us to beat 'N Sync in the big sales race. Or, you know, that whole thing seems irrelevant to what we do. So, I think we've sort of earned the right, or the arrogance, or whatever, to do just do what we feel like doing."
Semisonic will kick off a North American tour in support of All About Chemistry on April 2 at Lee's Place in Toronto.
