(9/13/00, 5 p.m. ET) - Cher, Michael Bolton, Luther Vandross, Sister Sledge, and comedian David Brenner performed at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser for Vice President Al Gore at the E-Centre in Camden, New Jersey, Tuesday night (September 12). Cher introduced Gore, much to the delight of the approximately 2,500 guests in attendance. An avid supporter of the Democratic ticket, she has even gone so far as to provide a link to the official Al Gore/ Joe Leiberman campaign website from her official site, cher.com. Gore and his wife Tipper danced on stage during the closing number with Cher, Vandross, and members of Sister Sledge. Tickets were priced at $100 and $1,000, and Gore raised nearly $1 million at the star-studded event. On Thursday night (September 14) a concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall billed as the "Al Gore For President Fund-Raising Concert" will feature music by Jon Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffett, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Sheryl Crow, Macy Gray, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, Lenny Kravitz, K.D. Lang, Bette Midler, and Paul Simon. -- Jason Gelman, New York
