New Year's Tonic

(12/31/99, 10 a.m. ET) - This year, Tonic will be having a mellow New Year's Eve. That's compared to the one the band had last year in Maui, where things got a little out of hand. Singer Emerson Hart tells LAUNCH about that particular New Year's Eve.

"It was pretty crazy," he says. "They said in the seven years that they've been having shows there, ours was the biggest and craziest. We had like six fights, people stage diving, people grabbing amps. One chick attacked me. It was, like, crazy. I thought Maui was gonna be really mellow, but it ended up being quite an awesome show."

Tonic will be on the road first thing in the New Year, as it has gigs scheduled starting Jan. 9 in Birmingham, Ala.
