3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold Sees Silver Lining With Terror Attacks

(10/1/01, 10 a.m. ET) -- 3 Doors Down was on tour when the terror attacks occurred on September 11. The band's singer-songwriter Brad Arnold told LAUNCH that he was deeply disturbed by the attacks.

Arnold also said that the suicide terrorists may have taken down the Twin Towers, but they didn't succeed in breaking the country up and causing mass hysteria. He told LAUNCH that the incident united the country.

"They were taking a chance on doing what they'd done and making the country just terrorized and sending it into chaos almost," he said. "But I think the exact opposite has happened. Never in my lifetime, certainly, have I seen so little fussing over stupid petty stuff and so much unity between everybody. It changed the way people look at the little stuff. And they're seeing past that now and it's up to everybody. It's up to everybody just to hold on to that and not to go back to bitching and fighting."

Arnold added, "If it changed the country for the better--and nothing justifies that much loss of life, but better that than for it to be totally in vain."

3 Doors Down is on tour through October 13 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
